Women's March Sioux Falls 2019

2019 marks the third consecutive Women’s March in the city of Sioux Falls. This year’s celebration of femme-kind and womanhood stands apart in the fact that not a single soul marched in the frozen streets of Downtown Sioux Falls, thanks to a change in venue to indoor space provided by the Holiday Inn City Center, making the event warmer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for all in attendance.

Folks of various identities, from all walks of life, gathered in the ballroom of the Holiday Inn City Center in Sioux Falls on January 19th, 2019, filling the space with a contagious feelings of love & support. Pink hats dotted the crowd, displaying a highly disputed way of showing solidarity for a progression in equal rights. Numerous speakers called upon their fellow women to rise up & make their voices heard. The event included speeches from femme & WOC community and state leaders working for justice, equity, and viable change across the region. Speakers included Sanaa Abourezk, Sadaf Cassim, Jan Forstein, Jessica Hanson, Marisa Cummings, Christi Garst-Santos, Kelly Sullivan, Linda Duba, Erin Healy, &
