Town Hall @ Kenny Anderson Community Center
On Tuesday, July 30th, Sioux Falls community members came together at Kenny Anderson Community Center to discuss and address the recent rise in local shootings. Concerns about the surge in gun violence came to an all-time high for the Sioux Falls community after it was recently reported that there had been 42+ reports of shots fired in the Sioux Falls area in the past 30 days.
SFPD officers were present at the meeting, and spoke briefly before answering questions from the crowd for the remainder and majority of the time. Questions and comments included voices of concern, examples of how recent events have effected the Sioux Falls community, inquiries as to what procedures are being used, and what information may be available regarding the recent events.
For an event that had impromptu scheduling, the town hall style event garnered well over 300 attendees, who showed up to listen and be heard.
